A new way to help prevent and reduce symptoms of airborne allergies
What is an allergy?
Allergies are one of the most common chronic diseases. A chronic disease lasts a long time or happens often. An allergy occurs when the body’s immune system sees a substance as harmful and overreacts to it. The substances that cause allergic reactions are allergens. When someone has allergies, their immune system makes an antibody called immunoglobulin E (IgE). These antibodies respond to allergens. The resulting symptoms are caused by the allergic reaction.6
How do allergens enter the body?
Allergens can enter the organism in different ways. This can be by eating, by contact or, in the case of airborne allergens, through the nose. While indoor airborne allergens, such as house dust mites, pet's hair, and mold, occur all year round at home or in other indoor places, pollen allergens are limited to the blooming periods of the respective plants.
What are the symptoms of an allergy?
Common allergic reactions from exposure to airborne allergens, which typically lead to allergic rhinitis, are:6
- Runny nose and mucus production
- Itchy nose, eyes, ears, and mouth
- Stuffy nose (nasal congestion)
- Red and watery eyes
- Swelling around the eyes

How does Bentrio help protect against airborne allergens?
Bentrio is a nasal spray with a novel triple mode of action that is designed to help protect against airborne allergens. Bentrio is a gel emulsion with so-called thixotropic properties. Before applying, it must be shaken to become liquid. After Bentrio has been sprayed into the nose, it becomes a gel again and builds the protective film on the nasal mucosa.
1) It forms a protective layer on the nasal mucosa
When sprayed into the nostrils, Bentrio covers the nasal mucosa with a thin gel-like film to help prevent airborne allergens from reaching the nasal mucosa and causing allergic reactions.
2) It attracts and traps airborne allergens on the protective layer
Thanks to its key component, bentonite, allergens inhaled through the nose are attracted and trapped through electrostatic effects. The trapped allergens are then removed naturally from the nasal cavity through so-called mucociliary clearance and eliminated via the digestive tract.
3) It moisturizes the nasal mucosa to help support its natural function
Various environmental influences can cause the nasal mucosa to dry out and therefore no longer act as a strong shield of protection. The ingredients of Bentrio help to keep the nasal mucosa moist so that it can maintain its natural protective function.
